Friendship Needs No Words...

Yikes, did that week fly by or what?

Most Torontonian’s, including us residents in the GTA mark the end of summer when the Canadian National Exhibition (The CNE, The Ex) opens, and it did just that this past Friday.

So it’s over folks, summer that is, and it makes me very sad because we all know what is lurking behind all this glorious warmth…Ugh, old man winter!

Let’s not dwell on that shall we….

I would like to thank all of you crafty peeps that stopped by my blog last week, and took the time to leave me some of the most amazing and inspiring compliments I’ve ever received.  Please know that you've all made me feel so wonderful. Thank you.

Now, getting down to business… this week over at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge we have a brand new Anything Goes challenge and this week’s twist is
“Best Friends”.

I have chosen a Kraftin’ Kimmie stamp called "Bench Friends".  It has been in my collection for some time now and I have never used it until now.
I couldn’t think of anything cuter to illustrate a great friendship. Can you?

I stamped the image onto Neenah card-stock and coloured it up with my Copic markers.

Dress/Socks/Bow – R00, 02, 05, 08, W03
Teddy bear – E30, 31, 33, 35
Bench – W00, 03, 05, 08, E33
Shoes – W03, 05, 07
Grass – YG03, 05, 07
Hair – E50, 51, E44, 47, 49
Skin – E000, 00, 11

The papers are from s.e.i’s Promise Me Companion set.

I am totally loving the 3D layering technique and I've also chosen deep colours as the papers in this collection are somewhat muted or distressed if you will.
Combining the two I wanted the image to pop off the card. Take a closer look below, what do you think?

Again this week I have chosen a sketch from
Tuesday Morning Sketches, #160 is up and running.

I really liked this particular sketch and they actually have four to pick from. You've probably noticed by now that I am drawn to the more simplistic designs. It takes me long enough to make a card as it is, and I don't need to be fussing with so many other details or I would be at my craft table forever!

Well that’s all I have for you today peeps, so get your creative juices flowing, and I hope to see you over at the challenge. Thanks for stopping by JS

  4. That is so sweet, Sandra, and you colored it beautifully.

Summer is really, really over, here on Prince Edward Island, when the local dairy bars close down in September. That is really sad because they make the best soft ice cream this side of Heaven.
    Blessing hugs,
    Teresa

    1. I am really enjoying that fact that your sketch challenges coincide with my challenge days, and the sketches are great by the way!
As for winters in Toronto...well we are surrounded by three great lakes and the lake effect snow can we brutal. It is also a very cold damp get into your bones kind of cold too, it sucks. I really need to find a nice warm dry place to live, but good luck finding that in this country. :)S

  8. Love your card Sandra!! The image is so cute.
I also hate it when summer is over, but then, I can't work outside when it's winter, so more time to craft :)
