Best Birthday Ever...

Hello again my fabulous peeps! It’s Tuesday and time for another Through the Classroom Door Blog challenge.
I hope you've had the chance to read my last post indicating that the newest edition of the magazine is now available. I equally hope you're busy catching up on your reading, ogling over the tons of inspiration and/or trying your hand at the amazing tutorials that are within it!

If you missed that post, no worries, just take a peek at the video at the top left sidebar and you will see a little preview of it.
Now, on to this week’s challenge...

Our awesome sponsor is non-other than...
Home of Dustin Pike's Original Hand Drawn Graphics.
I have had the privilege of using Under Bear for my inspirational card this week...

I had a ton of fun creating this card because it's for a very special little girl's approaching birthday and she loves teddy bears.
You might of seen some of her handy work when we hung out over the Christmas / New Years holidays.

Anyway, I printed Under Bear onto Neenah card stock and then coloured it with my Copic Markers.

This is the inside...

I used Kraft paper for the card base and scraps for the embossed pieces. The DP's are from MY MINE'S EYE "Hootenanny" Paper Pad. The sentiment I just cut out from one of the single sheets in the paper pad.

I used some stickles on Under Bear's heart patch and on the clear star stickpin. A little glossy accents, and a few pearls for that final touch.

Copic Colours Used:

E30 31 33 35
N0 01 03 05 06 10
YR 02 04 07 09

The sketch is Deconstructed Jen #3

As usual this edition is chock-full of goodies, so if you haven’t gotten a subscription yet perhaps the below sneak peak will help convince you as to why you should and/or show you what you’re missing if you don't.

One of our D/Teamies, Jo Hamm, created this video and I hope it has convinced you to get one, and if so, click here.
But before you go do that though, I would like to show you the little Valentines Day card I made for my sister.
It was showcased in this past January/February edition and it was made using one of the many free digital images that you get along with your subscription.

This great image was created by Sandi Huggett of Sandi's Samples.

Texting Teen...

Hello there my wonderful crafty peeps!

Man oh man; I can’t believe another two weeks has passed since my last Through the Classroom Door Challenge Blog post.

I look at it this way; at least we are two weeks closer to getting rid of all these heavy winter clothes and boots. I tell yeah though, it sure can’t come soon enough for Moi!!!

So, on to our challenge….this week our sponsor is none other than the very talented

MayzyArt has some of the most adorable and trendy digital images out there. Funny enough I needed a “trendy” image for my nephew’s past birthday card and was lucky enough to be able to showcase

I actually picked this image for very personal reasons. My oldest nephew who is from Calgary, Alberta came to live with my husband and I this past September so he could attend our local University of Waterloo. There has been many a day or night that I would find him sitting in this exact position on our living room couch doing this exact same thing. On top of that he actually looks a little like this young fella too. So needless to say I just had to have this awesome digital image for his 18th birthday card. Thank you Mayzy!

A closer view...

I must mention to you too that the backpack did not come with the image. The reason why I added it is there is twofold; this fella looked like he should be leaning up against something and my nephew is rarely without one. I found this clipart image online.
I printed the image on to Neenah card stock and coloured it up with my Copic markers. The papers are from my stash and I used an EK Success border punch as well as a black Viva D├ęcor Pearl Pen. Given the fact that it is a total “guy” card there is never any bling, just a little glossy accents on the runners and of course his phone!

Copic Colours Used:
Jeans – B93, 95, 97, 99
Runners – W00, 01, 02 B29
Shirt – C04, 05, 07, R17, YR07, 09 Y35
Hair – E50, 53, 55, 57

So there you have it peeps, another awesome TTCRD challenge for you. Get into your crafty frame of mind and join us this week. Don't forget to stop by the blog for more fantastic MayzyArt inspiration by my fellow D/Teamies too.
Oh, rumour has it that our next magazine edition will be out very soon. So if you haven’t subscribed yet now is a great time, and don’t forget that with your new subscription you have access to all the past ones and all the goodies they hold.

I will be entering my card into the following challenge(s):

Guest Designer...

Hello crafty peeps; it’s me again with another post.
Not only am I here to share another card with you, but I also want to share the reason why I am.
As you know I recently had to step down from two amazing Design Teams due to health issues, and now only design cards for
On January 29, 2013 I designed a card for a TTCRD challenge where our sponsor was Nicecrane Designs.
Shortly following that challenge post I was approached by the sponsor and asked if I would like to join his design team. I was completely flattered at the request, however I had to explain the reasons why I couldn't accept the very generous offer.
Nicecrane then sweetened the pot so to speak, and allowed me the opportunity to be a guest designer from time to time as my health situation dictates. Basically, the structure is that I can pick any image that I like, and create a project whenever I am feeling up to it.
Sounds too good to be true doesn’t it?
Having complete freedom from DT responsibilities, no specific themes to follow, and no deadlines was just too hard to refuse.
So, today I would like to share with you what I hope will be one of many Guest Designer cards that I've made using Nicecrane Designs; Creative Peter Rabbit DSL

This collection just needed to be created into something other than your basic card, so I combined parts of two separate images to create this little garden scene.

Now, I am sure you have already noticed that I’ve stepped out of my box and made a step card (no pun intended). I’ve seen so many of these around blog land and have never tried one before.

My girlie friend Patricia St. Martin of Rubber Stamping is my Game is my amazing mentor when it comes to storybook cards, and you should definitely drop by her blog to see what I am talking about!!

I coloured all the images with my Copic Markers, fussy cut and displayed a few of them as if they were hiding in a little garden.

The grass and flowers were created using two separate Memory Box die cuts. The DP is from DCWV Linen Closet Stack and basic SU cardstock.

Copic Colours Used:
Rabbits – E21, 30, 55 and W00, 01, 03
Book - W00, 01, 03
Mug – BG 72, 75 and W03

There you have it, my first step card and my first Nicecrane Designs Guest Designer contribution.

I’d like to thank Ignacio Molina for giving me the opportunity to work with his images and for giving me carte blanche or the freedom to create on my own schedule.

I will be entering my card into the following challenges:
